In the first episode, the parents of Elza (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) were given the classic Disney fate, meaning they died in an accident at the beginning of the story, leaving behind the effects of their alienating parenting. But in Frozen 2, their past becomes the catalyst for the plot, as the people of Arendelle are endangered by mysterious natural events that lead back to the magical forest Elza and Anna’s father told in their childhood. Like Frozen, the story revolves around Elza’s power, but this time she has to deal with the secrets of her parents and grandparents, not herself.
